Now, You Got Your iPhone… What Are You Going To Do With Your Old iPod?

I’m sure a lot of you have already gotten your hands on your very own iPhones. Some of you may even have camped-out outside of your neighborhood Apple store just to be the first ones to get it. It truly is a magnificent piece of gadget – with ALL the needed apps loaded in.

But now that you have your iPhone to hold and play your mp3 and movie collections… whatever are you going to do with your trusty iPod? If you are a bit greedy, you CAN take both of them with you, but that’s just ridiculous! Here are a few ideas to help you out of your predicament:

1. Mirror, to fix your hair and make-up or get you out of embarrassing situations. – iPods have very shiny back surfaces, which make for great mirrors for ladies to check their hair and/or make-up. And if you ever feel like you have something caught in between your teeth inside of a crowded room, just grab your iPhone, stick the earphone in your ears and pretend to listen to music while you check your teeth.

2. Car Audio – Instead of having a disc player or (God-forbid) a cassette-player inside your car, have your iPod connected to your car stereo via an iPod adapter. You don’t only get rid of the dozens of discs stuffed inside your car; you can have thousands of your favorite songs ready to play. You lessen the clutter and are a lot more cutting-edge in the process.

3. Portable Storage Device – Sure, there are hundreds of those tiny flash drives everywhere. It’s a staple for college kids and nerds, you can have those too if you want to be tagged as a geek! But if you want to have your files from your computer and still look a bit cool, just plug in your iPod and copy them.

4. Bait when you’re getting mugged – You might’ve heard of a similar method as this, but let’s just say you don’t have fake money with you, here’s how it would go… If somebody points a knife at you and demands for your wallet, pull out your (old) iPod with some change. Make sure to throw those in one direction and run the other way! The mugger would likely go after the iPod and leave you (here’s to hoping, anyway…)

5. Give them away – Somebody in your family or one of your friends probably wants one but can’t afford it, so why not give it to them (as a gift for extra points!)

6. Use it as a Movie Storage Device. With the proper software you can start converting your dvd collection to play on your iPod. Imagine having one iPod for music, another for watching DVDs.
